The Lion & Unicorn Theatre Ushers in an Exciting Spring 2024 Season

The Lion & Unicorn Theatre, a cornerstone of London’s pub theatre scene, is set to dazzle audiences with its Spring 2024 Season, an array of innovative, daring, and critically-acclaimed productions. The season, managed by the in-house company Proforça Theatre, promises a blend of excitement and artistic brilliance, offering something for everyone in the bustling heart of Kentish Town.

At the helm of this creative venture is David Brady, the Artistic Director of The Lion & Unicorn Theatre, whose vision has been pivotal in shaping the theatre’s reputation for groundbreaking work. The season kicks off with Proforça Theatre’s revival of their five-star hit “Flashbang,” a compelling story about friendship, change, and the nuances of small-town life, running from 20th February to 9th March.

Joining the line-up is “MAGGOTS” by Fight or Flight Productions, a darkly humorous play exploring themes of loneliness and community, set to run from 10th January to 10th February. Written by Farah Najib and directed by Jess Barton, this production is a testament to the theatre’s commitment to showcasing thought-provoking and contemporary works.

Moon Loaf Productions, known for their previous hits like “Doubt” and “TIFO,” returns to the theatre in April with “Insult to Injury,” adding to the season’s diversity with their unique storytelling style.

The season also features new one-week shows spotlighting emerging talents. “Double Act” by Mountview graduate Nick Hyde, “All Fur Coat” by Lowborn Theatre, and “Hamsters” by Talkers & Doers are some of the productions that explore varied themes from men’s mental health to the portrayal of working-class families and the importance of female relationships.

In addition to these, the season will include “Magic,” a story of coping with grief, and the new musical “The Queen is Mad,” focusing on Joanna of Castile, further diversifying the theatre’s offering.

The theatre, located above the Lion & Unicorn Pub on Gaisford Street, is a short walk from Kentish Town tube station, making it easily accessible for theatre-goers.

Tickets for the shows, priced between £12 to £15, can be booked on the theatre’s website.

The theatre’s commitment to supporting emerging talent, coupled with its tradition of hosting established artists, makes the Spring 2024 Season a must-attend for theatre enthusiasts.
