“Stimmicanto”: Paggy Gacheva’s Innovative Solo Show at Barons Court Theatre

London’s Barons Court Theatre is set to host ‘Stimmicanto‘, a distinctive solo performance by Paggy Gacheva, from January 30th to February 4th, 2024. The show, which runs at 7:30 pm Tuesday-Saturday, Sunday at 5:00 pm, marks an innovative venture into the realm of comedy and surrealism, guided by the unique perspective of an autistic artist.

Paggy Gacheva, known for her surrealist and unexpected comedic style, brings ‘Stimmicanto’ to life following its successful run at Brighton Fringe and Faversham Fringe, where it was awarded the Brighton Fringe 2023 Pebble Trust Young People’s Bursary. The show, blending ‘stimming’ and ‘encanto’ (Spanish for joy), promises an hour of high-energy and offbeat entertainment. It offers a journey through a literal mind, encouraging unfiltered joy and exploration.

‘Stimmicanto’, Gacheva’s first solo show, was developed after her autism diagnosis at 18. The show originated as a short set titled ‘A journey through a literal mind’ performed by the all-autistic theatre troupe ‘Neurospace Theatre’. Now, in collaboration with Kibo Productions, it’s set to make its London debut.

The performance will be held at Barons Court Theatre, situated below the Curtain’s Up Pub at 28a Comeragh Road, London. This intimate venue adds to the show’s immersive experience. However, attendees should be aware of the venue’s accessibility limitations due to stairs.

Tickets are available at £15.00, with discounted rates for students, over 60s, unwaged, and NHS staff. Advanced booking is recommended due to the expected high demand and limited seating capacity. For specific access requirements, or for more information, the theatre encourages direct contact.

With an age recommendation of 14+, ‘Stimmicanto’ is poised to offer a fresh and thought-provoking experience. Its unique blend of improv, stand-up, and character comedy, along with its perspective through an autistic lens, sets it apart in the London theatre scene.
