Review – The Goddess Tantric Massage Parlour

Review by Andreea Helen David.
‘Get your freak on’ song comes on … okay… let’s do this, I am ready.
Jacqueline comes on to the stage and immediately lets us know this is going to be a great show, personable, affable with a lovely smile she puts you at ease even if one of the first words is sex. Even if you are a massive prude, like me, you’ll relax and have fun even in the cringiest of moments…because Jacqueline talks about fears, wonderings and wants that we all have. She starts interacting with the audience and deals amazingly and with so much wit, with the unexpected answers and an overexcited audience member. She’s so quick on her feet.
First, an introspection into her childhood and how she discovered what puberty is. Hilarious, as she steps in and out of the reality with the help of spray can, although scripted she is able to improvise and respond to the unexpected. Brilliant. And that book is real…
Second is her few sexual experiences which led her to believe that ‘Best sex of my life is a fiction’.  Next comes young adulthood spent as receptionist/goddess in the Tantric Massage Parlour where she learns the secrets of the underworld of  tantric massage, best is when she finds herself as a goddess in flames. A funny account of a less ideal situation and although this is a a comedy show, Jacqueline has empathy and never laughs at her characters. But all ends well and I loved that, characters are redeemed, they find their happiness and Jacqueline herself finds someone promising…wink.
This show is a combination of memories and made up moments each valuable in what they have to teach you. All on a soundtrack of laughter and Dire Straights.
I had great fun!
