10th LONDON ROLLING FILM FESTIVAL

The London Rolling Film Festival announces the Official Selection for the 2020’s X edition.

On the 7th of February 2020, the X edition of the London Rolling Film Festival opens at the Rileys Sports Bar in London Haymarket. An exclusive VIP opening night will be held at the Virgin Lounge on the 6th of February.

With this exciting new location move the Festival keeps moving step by step closer to the “big red carpet zone” of Leicester Square. As stated in their website, the Reilys is home to the biggest 4k projection screen in London and is positioned right in the heart of Theatreland (5 minute walk from Piccadilly Circus, Leicester Square and Charing Cross stations).

Here the 10 short films competing in the Official Selection of the 10th edition of the London Rolling Film Festival:

The Deal by Syd Heather
Trapped by James Bushe
Lady What Does by Lisa Harmer and Sara Jordan
From Dust we Came by Sindre Kaupang
Film Me by Ed Picard
Patron by Emily Haigh and Alon Young
Under My Wing by Alfred Barwick and Viridian Kerr
Baa Baa Black Sheep by Orlando Bryant
Pink Pool by Milda Baginskaitė
Ruck It! by Kelvin DeSena

As per LRFF’s main policy, all filmmakers of selected films will be present to allow for networking and positive industry exchanges.

It wasn’t easy to choose only 10 short films out of the many received this year” said festival director Alida Pantone. “I’m so happy to have the opportunity to show some of the once that I had no space for in the London edition to the other cities the Festival will visit for the X Tour!”

During the event, will also be announced the main selection of the London Rolling Film Festival X Tour. One of the films travelling the world with the LRFFX Tour will be “Song Sparrow” by Farzaneh Omidvarnia (animated short film selected thanks to the partnership with the Afrodite Shorts Film Festival of Rome, Italy).

The special guest of the “Feature Corner” Q&A this year will be the Channel 4 documentary “The Unremembered – Britains Forgotten War Heroes”, presented by Rava Childs (editor) and Mike Smith (Producer).

Tickets for the Film Festival and for the exclusive opening party are now on sale (https://filmfreeway.com/LondonRollingFilmFestival/tickets) and all the profits will be donated for the Australian bushfires crisis to the NSW Rural Fire Service (https://www.rfs.nsw.gov.au/about-us/fundraising).

“What’s happening in Australia is terrifying and my thoughts are with the brave and tireless firefighters that are risking their lives to save our planet from what is one of the biggest catastrophes of our era.” said festival director Alida Pantone, who just came back from Australia where she was visiting her family.  “Millions of animals have already lost their home and lives. We need to stop this. I chose to donate to the fire service in the belief that prevention is better than cure. So if more resources can be invested in stopping the fires before they kill more animals, that would be better than having to save surviving animals.”
