The Royal Academy of Arts lockdown

In line with government guidance, the Royal Academy of Arts will be closed from 6pm on Wednesday 4 November and will reopen as soon as lockdown restrictions are lifted. The health and safety of visitors and staff remains our top priority.

The forthcoming exhibition Tracey Emin/Edvard Munch: The Loneliness of the Soul, which was due to open on 15 November, will now begin after the Royal Academy reopens.

Although the Royal Academy’s doors may be closed, it is still very much open for business in other ways. Visit the website for a continuing programme of innovative content including family activities, exhibition tours and artist interviews. Explore Summer Exhibition 2020 via the Summer Exhibition Explorer, which provides an opportunity to buy original works in support of the exhibiting artists, the postgraduate students studying in the RA Schools and the not-for-profit work of the Royal Academy. The RA Shop will also continue to be open online throughout and memberships and future 2021 exhibition tickets are available.

All current ticket holders will be contacted in due course.
