The “Italian London Short Film Festival” opens in London on April 30th 2017
On April 30th 2017 The Underdog Gallery will host the first edition of the “Italian London Short Film Festival”.
“IL Film Festival” is the newest Italian short film festival of London dedicated to movies with an Italian flavour. A buzzing night to have a taste, in little bites, of the Italian cinema. Run by 3 young Italian actors who made of London their new home, the Festival aims to bring closer the 2 worlds.
The Festival is produced by Alida Pantone and co-Directed by Alessandro Ananasso and Alessandro Marchese.
“The idea of the Festival came to Alida during a meeting of NIAL (Native Italian Actors in London) who we are all part of and me and Ale Marchese jumped straight on board” says Alessandro Ananasso.
“Since the recent rebirth of love for Italian cinema, we wanted to give the opportunity to new talent to showcase their films with the sounds of Italian language” adds Artistic Director Alessandro Marchese.
The Italian London Short Film Festival will not only represent a platform for Italian directors to showcase their short films to London’s international audience, but will also give the opportunity to the lovers of this poetic language to practice with the “natives”.
Screenings, networking and Q&A with special guests are the ingredients that IL film festival brings to the table.
Submissions are now open via Festival Freeway (https://filmfreeway.com/festival/ILFilmFestival)
The Festival will be host by The Underdog Gallery (just five minutes walk from London Bridge station), which will welcome the Festival guests with a fully licensed bar, a cinema screen and a full PA system.
The program for the 1st edition of IL Film Festival to be announced in the next days.
