HEIST Premieres at Camden Fringe: New Political Theatre at Baron’s Court
Wright Here Productions brings a new politically charged play to the Camden Fringe Festival this August with the premiere of HEIST, written and directed by Joe Wright. The show runs at Baron’s Court Theatre from 5 to 9 August 2025, with nightly performances at 7:30pm.
Set in a near-future, dystopian Dublin, HEIST is a multimedia theatre piece that blends film, sound design, and live performance to tell a story unfolding across two timelines. In one, two working-class characters — The Kid and Lady B — plan a high-stakes heist. In the other, a woman named Sarah calls into a late-night radio show in 2024, reflecting on personal disillusionment and fears for her daughter’s future.
The production explores themes of gentrification, economic uncertainty, and resistance, all through a Dublin lens. Known for his bold and politically driven work (Astronaut, DAFT), Joe Wright describes HEIST as “a moment to reflect on a time that was uniquely Dublin’s.”
The cast includes Ana Canals, Eimear Griffin, David Carter, and Wright himself. The creative team features Stefano Luongo on lighting and audiovisual design. Tickets are priced at £14, and the running time is 55 minutes with no interval.
