LONDON ROLLING FILM FESTIVAL VIII

The 8th Edition of the London Rolling Film Festival will take place Sunday 10th September 2017 from 12 to 6pm at the “Phoenix Artist Club” (Soho).

The Festival, run by an all female team, is an unconventional mix between a film night and an industry networking event. Its main purpose is to showcase talented filmmakers and facilitate synergies and future collaborations between industry professionals at all levels. It is mainly attended by actors, directors & producers but also make-up artists, fashion designers and journalists. It’s a vibrant event in constant evolution.

Artistic Director and founder of the Festival Alida Pantone has confirmed today the Official Selection, together with an excellent lineup of special guests and judges.

To present the event the gorgeous Ellie Torrez.

Ellie has worked on many British and international film & TV projects, including Eastenders, Run Fat Boy Run, How to Lose Friends & Alienate People and Last Chance Harvey. She also starred in the highly acclaimed Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde winning the Shriekfest – Best Actress Award in LA for her role as Claire Caine.

Awards

Best Short Film – Jury’s Choice, assigned by a jury of industry professionals.

Best Short Film – Audience Choice, decided by popular vote at the end of the night, with the winner receiving a small cash prize.

Winners will also get a 1 year free subscription to iPitch.tv

Feature Corner

Guest for the 8th edition of the London Rolling Film Festival “Feature Corner” is Director Dom Lenoir.

Dom’s passion for storytelling and powerful narratives is best suited for the big screen. This includes international shooting in Sicily, Scotland, Austria, Spain and Germany, showing an ability to create high production values and adaptability on any budget from short to feature level. His work has been Official Selection at the London Independent Film Festival, as well as winning various awards including ‘Accolade award for Excellence in filmmaking’ at the Hollywood Florida Film Festival in 2016. His latest feature is set for a 2018 release.

The trailer of his feature film “Winter Ridge” will be shown, starring Hannah Waddingham (Game of Thrones), Matt Hookings (Maleficent), Olwen Kelly (The Autopsy of Jane Doe) and Alan Ford (Snatch). It tells the story of a young detective whose wife falls into a coma and, unable to cope with her condition, throws himself into a case where he finds himself on the hunt for a serial killer.

Will follow a short Q&A with the Director.

 

During the event there will be short interviews with the Directors in competition, conducted by Ellie Torrez and broadcasted live on the official Facebook page of the Festival thanks to the media partners Doragoemon.com and The Fan Carpet.

 

Introducing the “Pitch Corner”

Festival Director Alida Pantone has also announced the “Pitch Corner”: an “open mic” 15 minutes window where selected filmmakers will have 5 minutes each to pitch to the audience their projects.

Thanks to the partnership with iPitch.tv all participants will also have a 3 months free subscription to the platform.

To inaugurate the Pitch Corner will be the web series “Julia – The Series” by Terrible People Productions.
